The beauty of solid drapes

We're going to let you in on a little secret. A secret that you see every single day when you browse spaces on Pinterest. A secret weapon of designers that works every.single.time. We're talking solid draperies.

Solid drapes are a staple in design. And when used well, they help to ground a space and calm the feel of the room. Think of it like your favorite basic staple t-shirt. Pairing it with a bold skirt and lip allows the outfit to breathe a little and focus on the best parts of the whole look. And when it needs to do the opposite, a solid drape in a bold color can even give a punch that the room may be screaming for. Think Kate Spade kelly green drapes in an office with a navy wall. Huzzah.

Also, whether you have a huge budget to spend in your space or a much smaller one, solid drapery panels will instantly upgrade your room with a luxurious and quality feel. Just choose a color that is either one shade darker or one shade lighter than your wall and you can't go wrong.

Below are a few quick examples we grabbed from housebeautiful.com:

The above has a lot of great things going on in it's space. All the gold tone accents in the furniture, mirror and lighting, the detail in the fireplace, the purple accents, and that AH-MAZING ceiling detail. While a good patterned drape can be so great, could you imagine using some here in this space? They would absolutely distract from all of the beauty already within the room. The creamy solid panels add to the luxuriousness that the room is already giving off by staying solid, staying neutral, and adding a soft textured element to the space.

The same thing applies here. There are beautiful and interesting things going on in the space and bold art hanging on the wall. Adding a pattern would distract from it all and bring the room down from it's beautiful airy feel. Also, look how they added drapes to the interior door on the right. Loveee. Again, neutral drapes almost the same color as the wall.

Drapery panels in a bathroom is something we LOVE. In such a hard and cold space, why not some soft in where you can (in the most reasonable way possible. No thank you, 70's bathroom carpet, gross.) This space went from beautiful to beautiful AND elegant just by adding some basic white panels.

And lastly, here's how a solid panel can add great interest and color to an otherwise simple space. We love this great purple drape here to frame the space perfectly and adds so much great texture and contrast.

To add to it all, our solid panels are our most affordable drapery panel that we offer. From our many standard sizes to a custom order to fit your space perfectly, our quality is second to none. Choose from 28 colors to fit your space and you'll be well on your way to creating the perfect space for your home. Hiya, blog world!

Hey there!  Welcome to our FIRST official blog post (eep!). It's a bit strange to even say that, honestly. We feel somewhat like little elderly ladies trying to use an ipad for the first time, but we promise to get the hang of it.  For over four years, we've been working with so many of you and telling our story in little tidbits here and there. But we felt like we needed a bit more to truly connect with all of you and share our passions and love for quality home goods. So here goes... bear with us as we get acclimated to the big blog world.
